The ruins of Genset

For a few years Genset has been the leader and the pride of the french biotec, it was then acquired by the Swiss pharma Serono in 2002. But this Reseach Center definitively closed this year. With a few colleagues of integragen, we've be visiting the desert building... Nobody in the corridors, the library was a mess, complete collections of scientific journals abandoned on the ground...

So, were you checking out the competition ? :) What happened they were relocated or Serono just bought the company for patents or something ?

On a funny side note. Serono lawyers once called to the lab here where I work (the Serrano lab). They were threatening to sue my boss if he did not change the name of the lab. They said people could easily confuse the names. They never did sue of course.

Hi Pedro,
Serono bought the whole GENSET compagny but a few years later the staff was asked to join their labs in switzerland or to leave...
